Police Services Bureau
The Police Services Bureau is the operational core of the department and provides police services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each officer has the authority to respond to and investigate crimes, make arrests, and carry firearms, as well as to direct and/or regulate traffic and enforce Maryland traffic law.
Police services and resources include:
- Emergency response to crimes in progress and to life-threatening incidents
- Traffic collision investigation and reporting
- Crime and incident reporting
- Follow-up investigations
- Patrolling the campus in marked and unmarked police vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, and walking patrols
- Walking safety escorts, vehicle jump starts and lockouts
- Safety presentations
- Explosives Detection K-9
