Security Operations Center Positions
The Security Operations Center (SOC) is comprised of civilian, unarmed staff tasked with monitoring the extensive security camera system. The SOC is a 24/7/365 operation. Staff actively monitor about 450 cameras and have access to over 1,200 cameras. Cameras are located both in the interior and on the exterior of campus buildings, as well as at various locations around the City of College Park.
Security Operations Center Monitors
SOC Monitors conduct proactive and reactive camera monitoring designed to both prevent crime and respond to crime that has already occurred. They also review recorded video in response to requests from officers investigating incidents. Additionally, SOC staff monitor the fire alarm systems in academic, administrative and residential buildings.
- Starting salary for part-time monitors is $16.50 per hour.
- Evening shifts offer shift differential pay of an extra $1.00 per hour.
- Holiday shifts pay an extra $2.00 per hour incentive pay.

- Minimum requirement of 16 work hours per week (may work up to 29 hours per week if available)
