Explosives Detection K-9
The Explosives Detection K-9 Unit was established in 2012 and enables UMPD to better detect, deter, and respond to reports of criminal and terrorist activity on university property and the surrounding area. All UMPD person-borne explosive detection dogs are trained to detect explosives by traditional scanning, off-lead, and person-borne scans. They will provide these capabilities when responding to calls for suspicious or unattended packages, for random checks of areas, and for special events.
