Safety Notices
The University of Maryland Police Department issues a UMD Safety Notice to share important information about a crime or incident that poses an ongoing risk to the safety of the university community. UMD Safety Notices are issued for incidents occurring both on and off campus; sometimes the notice seeks the community’s help for information regarding the incident and/or the identity of the suspect(s) involved. Campus Security Authority Logs
The Daily Campus Security Authority (CSA) Incident Log lists basic information on incident data provided to the University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) by designated Campus Security Authorities. These incidents may not have been reported to the police for a response or investigation, but merely for informational purposes.
Daily Crime and Incident Logs
The Daily Crime and Incident Log displays criminal misconduct and incident reports. The log lists the incident type, occurred date and time, reported date and time, general location, and, if known, disposition. Entries are made and updated within two business days of the report or update.
Arrest Logs
The Annual Arrest Logs list basic information from arrests made by UMPD officers and are updated daily.
UMD Community Text Alert 09/08/2024
UMD Community Text Alerts were sent overnight for an off-campus assault with a weapon. The incident occurred along Rhode Island Avenue, between Rossborough Lane and Norwich Road. To view the alerts, visit https://alert.umd.edu/alerts . UPDATE: Earlier this morning, the driver of the e-scooter contacted UMPD and provided information and context of the event. The Prince George’s County Police Department continues to investigate.
