Crime Prevention and Community Outreach

The Crime Prevention and Community Outreach Unit focuses on programs centered on building relationships with members of the community, crime prevention efforts, and safety and security awareness programs tailored to meet the needs of UMD students, faculty and staff.

Our unit makes independent efforts to reduce the opportunity for crimes to occur, through efforts to incorporate Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). Crime prevention programs are regularly available and may be scheduled by calling 301.405.7032.
