Footnotes:

• A case number is included if a police department is investigating the reported crime. In many CSA reports, crimes are reported to UMPD under conditions of anonymity. As such, the case number will be N/A.
• The date and time reported is when UMPD was notified of the crime by a CSA, not necessarily when the CSA was notified.
• A disposition is only known when investigated by UMPD or in other limited circumstances. The Disposition of "N/A" refers to incidents that are not reported to UMPD for investigation, but rather solely for statistical reporting purposes and so no determination can be made as to the current status of the crime. A disposition of "Judicial Referral" means that the incident was brought to the attention of Resident Life or the Office of Student Conduct. Many of the cases are internally documented by Resident Life Staff, such as Resident Assistants.

Definitions:

CSA - Campus Security Authority - Includes the University of Maryland Police Department - UMPD (Crimes reported directly to UMPD are included in the UMPD Daily Crime Log), Any individual or individuals who have responsibility for campus security, any individual or oganization specified in an institution's statement of campus security policy as an individual or orgnaization to which students and employees should report criminal offenses, and an official of an institution who has significant responsibility for student and campus activities, including but not limited to, student housing, student discipline, and campus judicial proceedings.
