OCCURRED:              March 11, 2025 (Tuesday)/ Approximately 9:10 p.m. 

LOCATION:               College Park, Maryland

UMPD CASE #:           2025-58724

BRIEF DETAILS: 

On March 11, 2025, at approximately 10:35 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) responded to Johnson-Whittle Hall for a report of suspicious activity.

A resident reported to police that at approximately 9:10 p.m., on March 11, 2025, she found a portable recording device inside a single-use bathroom. Officers conducted a canvass and did not locate any additional electronic devices in the bathrooms within the building. The device was collected by UMPD, Criminal Investigations Unit. 

On March 12, 2025, at approximately 3:07 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department, Criminal Investigations Unit provided an update and after further investigation into this incident, they are investigating this case as a voyeur incident. 

On March 14, 2025, UMPD detectives applied for and received an arrest warrant for the suspect in this case. More information can be found in the press release.
