The purpose of this e-mail is to make you aware of an incident that occurred off-campus near the University of Maryland, College Park campus. The following is a synopsis of an incident reported to the Prince George's County Police Department.

INCIDENT: Off-Campus Robbery with a Weapon

OCCURRED: April 6, 2025 (Sunday)/ Approximately 4:05 p.m.

LOCATION: 5000 block of Berwyn Road, College Park, Maryland

PGPD CASE #: 25-0018046

BRIEF DETAILS:

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 4:05 p.m., the Prince George’s County Police Department was notified of an off-campus robbery with a weapon that just occurred in the 5000 block of Berwyn Road.

A white sedan pulled into a parking lot and stopped near a man. Three men got out of the sedan but one re-entered the driver’s seat. Two suspects approached the victim and one of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim. The victim’s property was taken, and the two suspects entered the sedan. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling east on Berwyn Road, towards the train tracks.

The suspects were wearing ski masks (two were black and one was multi-colored). The suspect with the handgun was wearing black shoes, light colored pants, and a black hooded sweatshirt. No further description of the two other suspects.

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 4:54 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department was notified of the incident.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident.
